Sustane Natural Granular Fertilizers
Suståne granulated slow release fertilizers replenish the soil with a rich supply of humus and the essential nutrients required for long term soil building and plant growth
· Suståne fertilizers are based on the knowledge that the best way to maintain quality turf is to develop and maintain a healthy soil. · While synthetic fertilizers supply plant growth nutrients, they do not supply the organic matter required to maintain quality turf. In recent years turfgrass managers have increasingly turned to natural organic fertilizers for use on high maintenance turf. · Benefits of using composted natural fertilizers include reduced thatch buildup, reduced soil compaction, reduced nitrate and pesticide movement, increased levels of soil organic matter and reductions in the incidence and severity of certain turfgrass diseases. · It is the disease suppression that offers the greatest potential impact on turfgrass management. It does provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional fungicide disease control programs. · Not all "organic" fertilizers are the same. Most organic fertilizers provide un-decomposed organic material, not humus. Many sewage sludge, meal products and manure-based products undergo high heat sterilization treatments. This process can kill off most of the beneficial and natural microorganisms. · All products that leave their manufacturing plant have been tested to assure that the guaranteed analysis is met and that the product meets or exceeds our strict quality standards. * This product contains 2.9 % slowly available water soluble nitrogen from Nutralene?. **This product contains 5.3 % slow release nitrogen from Nutralene?, feathermeal and compost. Suståne® 3-4-2 granulated compost works by replenishing the soil with a rich supply of humus (stabilized organic matter) and the nutrients required for sound integrated turf management and long term soil building programs. Medium Grade : – 7 + 14 (2.8 mm to 1.4 mm) Organic Matter / Humus Depletion Causes: • Reduced growth of beneficial microorganisms in the soil, which decreases nutrient availability, as well as the soil’s ability to suppress plant pathogens and decompose organic wastes. • Reduced cation exchange, buffering, and chelating capacities of the soil. ·Reduced soil porosity, stability, and nutrient and water holding capacity. Benefits of Adding Active Organic Matter / Humus in Topdressing and Construction Mixes • Improves infiltration rates in construction mixes. • Has a high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) and will improve the inherently low CEC of sand mixes. • Is developed using natural and proprietary techniques which provide an abundance of beneficial microorganisms. • Increases populations of beneficial indigenous microbes in the soil that will compete against pathogenic organisms. • Stable C:N ratio of approximately 6:1; excellent substrate for microbial activity. • Provides balanced fertility of all essential elements throughout the soil mix profile using only natural organic
